The Iconic Wacken Open Air Festival paves the way for sustainability with Upsyde Road Plates
Now that the summer festival season is wrapping up, we can begin to reflect on all the fun we had. Upsyde is excited to share how we contributed to making this summer not just memorable, but also sustainable.
Wacken Open Air, one of the world's biggest heavy metal festivals with over 85,000 attendees, is held annually in the village of Wacken in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. With thousands of fans attending, ensuring safe and accessible movement around the festival grounds was essential.
Upsyde provided plastic road plates made from recycled plastic waste to keep the walkways safe and stable in any weather. These road plates made it easier for everyone to navigate the festival grounds, promoting inclusivity by ensuring that all attendees could fully enjoy the festival experience. Not bad for a solution that also contributes to a more sustainable, circular economy.
As we move forward, we are excited to continue supporting events and communities with innovative, sustainable solutions that make a difference. Discover our full range of products on our website and let's pave the way for a more sustainable future together next season!
